The Kuala Lumpur Tower
(Malay: Menara Kuala Lumpur) is a tall tower located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Its construction was completed on 1 March 1995. It is used for communication purposes and features an antenna that reaches 421 metres (1,381 feet) and is the 7th tallest freestanding tower in the world.
The roof of the pod is at 335 metres (1,099 feet).

The original lighting design scheme:
In 2003, Guillot Lumiere Lighting Design Studio based in France was incharged from Malaysian government to design the lighting scheme for KLT Tower.
The aim was to give colors to the tower. Originally were installed some products ( Arena ) from Color Kinetics with dichroic filters CYM.

Studio Due proposal - An Energy Saving system
After 12 years nearly all of the Color Kinetics fixtures installed at the tower had failed. During this time there had been a tremendous waste of energy due to the use of the large quantity of power hungry 1800W metal halide lamps.
Hence the objective was to replace the metal halide products with the latest state of the art energy saving LEDs products from Studio Due Light.
The Guillot Lumiere Lighting Design Studio contacted Studio Due Light team in order to ask to participate for the replacement of the original fixtures.

The test phase
It was December 2014. The technical team ran a test using just 5 LEDs fixtures from Studio Due range.
The test was a huge success and malaysian government awarded contract to install new LED products from Studio Due.
The lighting test had been fundamental in order to estimate the quantity of projectors needed to wash this imposing structure uniformly.

The lighting design project's execution
Finally, in February 2015 the project has been completed.
The tower is made up of three sections:
- Cone – the height is around 300 meters and it is covered by the combination of twin headed 500W high powerful LED projectors (DUAL80RGBW/FC), which gives the uniformity along the cone, and long distances RGBW/FC LED projectors (City Beams 24RGBW), which grant the possibility to reach a such ambitious height;
- Crown – in this area have been installed 170 pieces of ArchiledFC;
- Antenna – has been lit using DUAL80RGBW
