OAXACA LIGHTING PROJECT
Oaxaca is more than a territory, is identity, roots with true heart. With Oaxaca’s inscription to the World Heritage of Humanity by Unesco, the efforts are mainly concentrated over touristic facilities of a unique heritage. And this is why, the city with its unique buildings and streets are the perfect scenario to demonstrate the strength of the light to restore life to the site where people can see a "new" and “fresh” look of the city during the night.
Buildings are illuminated throughout powerful and bright LED lighting fixtures with low power consumption. Architectural color changers have been integrated with public lights.The purpose of the plan it was to give an artistic touch revitalizing and reinforcing the city’s concept as an attractive touristic place of Mexico, besides collaborate with nocturnal tourism promotion.In collaboration with Citelum Mexico, Studio Due Light supplied for this prestigious project 95 SINGLE400RGBW and 200 ARCHILED200DRSRGBW as proposal for the revitalization of downtown.
The lighting master plan included as priority monuments and main streets around the historic area.At the early stage the main buildings lit up on the walkway attractions have been the Catedral, the Palacio de Gobierno, the Biblioteca Pública Nacional, the edificio del Monte de Piedad, the Facultad de Derecho, the Templo de Preciosa Sangre de Cristo, and also the illumination of the vegetation, sculputures and fountains. Hills around the city such as calle Allende, Adolfo Gurrión, el Pañuelito, Parque Labastida, el Zócalo y la Alameda were lit up to complete the background of the city.
As further extension of the project, Plaza de la Danza is illuminated in its limits as well as the Municipal Palace, the Temple of San Jose and the Basilica de la Soledad.
To complete the master plan, the Garden Socrates, was lit up to realize a spectular environment that is the scene of diversity of events that take place on the square.
All these lights are inserted into the heart of the historic center which integrates the public illumination of street lights.
